FUTO To Withdraw Students with CGPA Less than 1.0

The Vice Chancellor of Federal Univrsity of Owerri,
Prof C. C. Asiabaka has
emphasized on his
determination in restoring the original policy of the
institution whereby students with Cumulative
Grade Point Average (CGPA) of less than 1.0 at
the end of Year 1 are withdrawn from the
institution.
He mentioned that this is to instill again the spirit
of hard work and competitiveness that the
students of the institution are known for.
According to him, measures are in place to ensure
that only students that have the mental capacity
to cope with the academic rigour of the institution
are retained.
He equally urged Deans and Heads of Department
to ensure that deficient students are detected and
flushed out of the institution.
